Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a natural, non-invasive combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis. It can be amazingly effective and does not usually rely on lengthy courses of treatment, with many people making lasting changes in just 3-6 sessions.
The solution-focussed approach to psychotherapy makes for an enjoyable experience of talking therapy, as we focus on where you would like to be, and work on discovering how to get there. Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) are two of the well-established techniques I use, to gently focus you on positive change and help you learn beneficial new tools for coping.

Why use hypnosis as well as psychotherapy?
Most of our unhelpful behaviours and belief systems are locked in the subconscious mind, which cannot be influenced by talking alone. Intellectual understanding can only take us so far, and most of us already know what we ‘should’ be doing, and where our issues stem from.
During the relaxed state of trance we are open to suggestion, allowing subtle changes to occur deep within. However, despite this openness you don’t lose control during hypnosis, and I can’t influence you to do anything you don’t want. Anyone can be hypnotised if they want to be and like day-dreaming, you can enter and leave this state at will.
