Summary of Therapies
Nutrition & Kinesiology
Our nutritionist is able to advise on a range of allergies, food intolerances and other dietary conditions. After an initial consultation to discuss in detail your lifestyle and medical history, kinesiology is used to test muscles, identify underlying problems and to re-balance your energy system.
A dietary programme is then recommended to enable the client to recover health and well-being. It is advised to have a check-up session after a month when progress can be followed up. Eventually, it is hoped that any supplements and changes to your usual diet can be reduced to a maintenance dosage as part of recovering good health.

Bowen Technique
"Subtle in its approach and powerful in effect. The Bowen Technique is considered safe to use on anyone, from babies to the elderly."
The Bowen Technique was developed by a gifted and innovative Australian therapist named Tom Bowen in the 1950's. Relaxing and soothing to receive, the therapist uses thumbs and forefingers to make Bowen's unique sets of gentle, rolling-type moves, which are then alternated with leaving the client to rest for a few minutes.
The moves are focused on crucial junctions of muscle and bone, nerve pathways, blood and lymph circulation and energy flow. The pauses allow the body's different systems to respond to the moves with the subtle and fine adjustments, which help to relieve tension, reduce pain and initiate the healing process.
The Bowen Technique is not necessarily a 'long-term' treatment programme. A small number of treatments are often adequate even for long-standing complaints. The Bowen therapist does not diagnose, but rather treats the individual while also focussing on any areas of concern.
A treatment can be given through light clothing. Some of the wide range of conditions which respond well to a Bowen treatment include: back pain; sciatica; frozen shoulder; tennis elbow; pelvic problems; digestive problems; fluid retention; migraine and headaches; circulation problems; stress and tension; depression; teeth grinding; M.E.; low energy; sports injuries; childhood problems (glue ear; bed-wetting, etc.,); P.M.T.; menstrual irregularities; menopausal problems.

Body Massage
The aim of the massage is to relax the body and mind and to create a feeling of wellness again. As well as soothing away stress and tension, massage will help conditions such as headaches, backache and specific muscular aches and pains.
Different massage techniques are used to improve blood circulation to the muscles and nervous system and to eliminate waste products via the lymphatic system. Massage can also be invigorating, which in turn will boost energy levels and increase mental clarity.
Massage has a profound effect on all levels of our being. It plays an important part in helping to keep our bodies functioning in a balanced way. During the massage, your body will be covered with large towels; each part uncovered when being worked on and re-covered as the massage moves on.

Herbalism
Herbal medicine has been practiced since the beginning of human kind, yet it is more relevant today than it ever was.
Many people are worried what the synthetic drugs prescribed by their GPs do to their bodies.
Furthermore, the growing incidence of undesired side-effects, and serious illnesses that are actually caused by modern drugs, has forced us to look for old solutions to new problems.
And it is not just folklore, research has proven herbal medicine’s efficacy on a scientific level.
Unlike allopathic drugs, herbs aim to treat the cause of the condition rather than just the symptoms. It attempts to re-instate the body’s self-healing powers, to regain the balance the body needs to heal itself.
Herbs can help with most medical problems and are safe to be taken when prescribed by a qualified practitioner. They are gentle enough to be given to babies, children, and pregnant women, yet so powerful that even serious disorders can benefit from the treatment.
Unlike allopathic drugs they do not have any unwanted side-effects when taken correctly and they only interact in a positive way.
Herbs will re-establish your body’s own healing power and once this is achieved the treatment can be stopped and the body will be able to maintain the state of health.
